Upload a Sermon

The upload page is the first step in creating a sermon record. Uploading does not publish anything.

Choose the file first

Open Workspace Library, then Upload Sermon. Choose the sermon file before filling out the details. Exlectio accepts PDF and DOCX files.

When you select a file, Exlectio can suggest a sermon title from the filename if the title field is blank. You can edit that title before submitting.

Add sermon details

After selecting the file, add the title, speaker, series, scripture reference, and sermon date. Series is optional; you can assign it later.

These details help your team search, filter, and review the library. They also help public visitors understand the sermon if it is published later.

What happens after upload

Exlectio stores the original upload for reference. When possible, it extracts the sermon text and creates a Markdown working copy. That working copy can be edited, cleaned with AI, exported, and published.

The sermon starts with the Uploaded status. It remains private until a user with permission publishes it.
