Privacy Policy & Terms of Service
Effective and last updated: August 2, 2026
Privacy Policy
Exlectio is a service of Working Man Websites LLC (“Exlectio,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you visit Exlectio, create an account, or use our services. It applies to our United States operations and does not limit rights that cannot lawfully be limited.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide and information generated while you use the service, including:
- Account and workspace information: name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), church or ministry name, workspace role, and account settings.
- Customer Content: sermons, notes, uploaded documents, images, PDFs, DOCX files, generated guides, and related metadata that you or authorized workspace users provide.
- Communications: support requests, messages, and information you include when contacting us.
- Billing information: subscription status and billing identifiers. Payment-card information is handled by our payment processor and is not stored by Exlectio.
- Technical and usage information: IP address, browser or device information, page/request information, security events, and service-usage events.
Please do not submit information you are not authorized to provide. Customer Content may contain personal or sensitive information if you choose to include it. We do not use Customer Content to infer characteristics about individuals or for advertising.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- provide, secure, operate, maintain, and improve Exlectio;
- create and administer accounts, workspaces, subscriptions, and access controls;
- store, display, publish at your direction, and process Customer Content;
- provide requested AI-assisted features and other service functionality;
- send transactional, security, support, billing, and service communications;
- detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, spam, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our terms;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce or protect our rights, users, and services; and
- create aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify you, where permitted by law.
How We Disclose Information
We may disclose information:
- to authorized users in the same workspace, consistent with their permissions;
- when you choose to make a library, sermon, guide, embed, or other content public;
- to service providers that help us host the service, store files, send email, process payments, provide AI-assisted processing, operate security tools, and support our operations, subject to appropriate contractual or legal restrictions;
- to professional advisers, insurers, auditors, and counterparties in connection with legal claims, corporate transactions, or due diligence;
- to comply with law, lawful process, or a government request, or to protect rights, privacy, safety, property, or security; and
- with your direction, consent, or as otherwise disclosed when information is collected.
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or use it for targeted advertising. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and Exlectio is not directed to them.
Service Providers and AI Features
We use third-party providers for functions such as infrastructure and file storage, email delivery, payment processing, security, and AI-assisted processing. When you request an AI-assisted feature, the content needed to provide that feature may be sent to the applicable AI service provider. Those providers may process information under their own terms and our applicable agreements. Do not use AI-assisted features for content you are not authorized to submit or disclose.
Cookies, Security, and Similar Technologies
We use necessary cookies and similar technologies to operate and secure the service, including session and CSRF cookies for sign-in and forms. We use Cloudflare Turnstile on certain forms to help prevent spam, automated abuse, and credential attacks. We do not currently operate advertising or cross-site behavioral tracking cookies. If we introduce non-essential analytics or advertising technologies, we will update this policy and provide any choice or consent required by applicable law.
Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above: generally while an account or workspace remains active; to provide requested services and maintain security and business records; to meet legal, accounting, tax, dispute-resolution, and enforcement obligations; and during ordinary backup and disaster-recovery cycles. We may retain de-identified or aggregated information where permitted by law. Retention periods vary by information type and the nature of the request or service.
Your Choices and Privacy Rights
You may update certain account information through the service. You may also request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of personal information, as applicable, through our contact form. Please include “Privacy Request” in the subject line. We may verify your request and may decline or limit it where permitted by law, including to protect other users’ rights, preserve security, complete a transaction, or comply with legal obligations.
Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional rights, including rights to know/access, correct, delete, obtain a portable copy of, or opt out of certain processing of personal information. Because Exlectio does not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, we do not offer a “Do Not Sell or Share” link at this time. If we deny a request that is subject to an appeal right, our response will explain how to appeal. Where applicable, we will honor legally required universal opt-out signals for processing we conduct that is subject to such a signal.
Workspace and Public Content
For Customer Content in a church or ministry workspace, the workspace owner or organization typically determines who may access, publish, edit, or remove that content. If you have a question about content controlled by a workspace, contact that workspace first. Content intentionally published through a public library or embed may be accessible to the public until it is unpublished or removed.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No service, transmission, or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and for promptly notifying us of suspected unauthorized access.
Changes and Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted here with a revised effective date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice when required by law. Questions, requests, or privacy concerns may be submitted through our contact form.
Terms of Service
Use of the Service
Exlectio provides tools for churches and ministry leaders to upload, process, organize, search, and share sermon-related content. You may use the service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms.
User Content and Public Sharing
You retain your rights in content you submit. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive right to host, reproduce, process, transmit, display, and otherwise use that content solely as necessary to provide, secure, support, and improve the service, enforce these terms, and comply with law. You are responsible for obtaining all rights, permissions, and consents needed for your content and for deciding what to publish publicly.
Account and Service Rules
You must provide accurate account information, maintain the confidentiality of your credentials, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. You may not misuse the service, interfere with its security or operation, upload unlawful or infringing material, attempt unauthorized access, or use automated means to abuse the service.
Payments, Changes, and Suspension
Paid plans are billed under the plan and billing terms presented at purchase. You may cancel as described in the service or by contacting support. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, or suspend or terminate access, to the extent permitted by law, including for nonpayment, abuse, security risk, or violation of these terms.
Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Exlectio is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanent availability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Exlectio and Working Man Websites LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
